Still River is a classic venture capital organization investing in dynamic growing companies who have created cutting edge products or services that have the potential to play a dominant role in the industry they serve. Most investments that the fund makes will be in private companies located in the northeast United States and doing business in the information technology, communications and life sciences industries. Raising capital from outside investors is an important step for any growing company. The Still River team evaluates the business model, business concept, industry, potential return and track record, experience and background of each company. When contemplating making an investment in a company, Still River looks closely at whether a strong relationship with management can be created. Once Still River has invested in a company, a commitment is made to assist in whatever way is required. We are active investors and help management make key decisions. In most cases, a member of the Still River team serves on the Board of Directors of the portfolio company. Still River Management Company has four funds from which it has made investments - Dean's Hill Limited Partnership, Still River Fund LP (SRF), Still River Fund II LP (SRF II) and Still River Fund III LP (SRF III). Dean's Hill and SRF are fully invested at this time. SRF II closed in December 1999 and SRF III in 2005. Both funds are currently being invested. Initial Still River portfolio company investments are between $500,000 and $5,000,000. Still River has made investments in 20 portfolio companies.
